COMPANIES I'VE HAD THE PLEASURE TO WORK WITH:

LOGOS.jpg

I heard there was talk of Sarah but for whatever reason my parents settled with Kamie, a name which at first glance appears simple, but most struggle with pronouncing. In her book The Creative Habit, choreographer Twyla Tharp conceives that there is an inherent power invested in our names and even challenges readers to pick a new name, as changing one’s moniker can bring a sense of commitment to a higher personal calling. Like Twyla, I got lucky. The thing about having a name you’re forced to frequently repeat is that people usually remember it. It keeps me on my toes. The repetition doesn’t tire me; rather it serves as a reminder to strive for originality in both work and everyday life, to live up to the name.

My life-long passion for the arts led me to graphic design, a field where I’m able to continually challenge myself to produce creative solutions. During my career I’ve worked with a wide range of clients in a variety of capacities, from startups and small businesses, to Fortune 500 companies. I design to make the complicated simple, blending function and aesthetics, typography and graphic elements, to elicit a desired response and promote greater understanding. More recently my work has been focused in presentation design, a medium that has strengthened my ability to communicate through engaging storytelling.

In my spare time I can be found baking made-to-order cakes and confections from my home in Austin, or trying my best to meet my cat Livie's entertainment expectations, a Scottish Fold rescue from Kuwait who is determined to take full advantage of all nine lives.

Let’s talk. And before I forget, it’s like Jamie with a K.
